The damper is mounted on supplied handle bar clamps and not on top of your stock ones so they will mount lower than other kits that just mount on top with longer screws and an additional bracket. This reduced height is preferable to other kits that mount on top of existing clamps because the added height of the other kits transfers amplified torque stresses to the pin mounting bracket on the tank.
